बृहदान्त्र के अन्तिम भाग को मलाशय (rectum) कहते हैं। मानव और कुछ अन्य स्तनधारियों का मलाशय सीधा (स्ट्रेट) होता है। मानव का मलाशय लगभग 12 सेमी. लम्बा होता है।
