सर जॉन टेनिल (१८ फरवरी १८२० - २५ फरवरी १९१४) ९वीं सदी के उत्तरार्ध में एक अंग्रेजी चित्रकार, ग्राफिक हास्यकार और राजनीतिक कार्टूनिस्ट थे।[१] १८९३ में उनकी कलात्मक उपलब्धियों के लिए उन्हें नाइट की उपाधि दी गई। टेनिल को विशेष रूप से ५० से अधिक वर्षों के लिए पंच पत्रिका के प्रमुख राजनीतिक कार्टूनिस्ट के रूप में याद किया जाता है, और लुइस कैरल के ऐलिसेज़ एड्वैन्चर्स इन वण्डरलैण्ड (१८६५) और थ्रू द लुकिंग ग्लास, एंड वॉट अलाइस फाउंड देयर (१८७१) के लिए जाने जाते है।[२]
