जब अत्यधिक नियमों एवं नियंत्रण के कारण अनावश्यक बिलम्ब किया जाता है तो इसे लाल फीताशाही (Red tapism) कहते हैं। प्रायः यह सरकारी संगठनों में तथा बडे निजी संगठनों में देखने को मिलता है। सरकारी कार्यों में हुई देर के लिए खासकर इस शब्द का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
