Chitrakoot
(district, डिस्ट्रिक्ट) कई देशों में पाई जाने वाली एक प्रशासनिक ईकाई होती है। ज़िलों के आकार में जगह-जगह का भारी अंतर होता है - कहीं तो कुछ गाँव जोड़कर ही ज़िला बनता है जबकि अन्य स्थानों पर विशाल भूक्षेत्र एक ही ज़िले में सम्मिलित होते हैं। भारत में हर ज़िला कई तालुकाओं, तहसीलों या प्रखण्डों को जोड़कर बनता है और कई ज़िलों को जोड़कर एक राज्य बनता है।[१]
