Parentage and Birth Morvi is a small, prosperous, wealthy town inKathiawar, Gujerat, at a short distance from theNorth-Western coast of the Indian Peninsula, theheadquarters of the native State of that name underthe Kathiawar agency of the British Government ofBombay. Dayanandas family belonged to the State,and his father held a post of some respectability andposition in the Government of the State.
